Records. Featuring killer cuts from Send More Paramedics, Beecher,

Fracture
I assume that this is either a
cheap sampler or a giveaway disc for the bands involved? Anyway.
11 bands and 11 tracks
(this
was the first edition Mark IATDE)
showcasing the diversity and quality of this middle England label.
A great way to familarise yourself with the labels roster, all
the bands are great and I was most surprised to see the JAILCELL
RECIPES on here! Apparently there' a CD out this winter of rare,
live and unreleased songs from thos old UK band. From the pop
punk of LOVEJUNK to the abbrasive grind of THE DEVILS, through
the emo-tastic rocking rhythms of THE OSTERMAN WEEKEND and up
to the melodic hardcore of STEEL RULES DIE...there's something
for everyone here and you should go check out the releases these
songs are taken from. (D.S.)
Scruffster
Zine
A dozen or so releases in around as many months since their inception
is testament to In At The Deep End Records' commitment to the
propogation of decent fookin' punk and hardcore, and what a top
job it is that they're doing. Now they've released this FREEEEBIE
16 track sampler CD to help persuade you to buy all their stuff.
You could do a helluva lot worse.
And None of Them Knew They Were Robots kick things off in an old
school though far from dated Fugazi Threat style that's followed
on by the weirdo epic metal of Beecher and the Broccoli / H3C
gritty pop-core of The Killerest Expression. Then we get these
ex-ENT types doing a hypnotic crust punk thing with strange samples
(The Devils) and the zombiefied Send More Paramedics and NYHC
via The Netherlands (Dandare) and some sprawling emo from The
Osterman Weekend and previously unreleased stuff from the semi-legendary
Jailcell Recipes and the manic hardcore of The Guillaume Seam
and the brilliant early 90's style pop-core of Lovejunk and...
we're running out of breath... there's too much good music on
here to tell you about right now. You don't have to take our word
for it. Find out for yourself. Get in touch with them and they'll
send it straight over to you for FREEEE and you'll be firing off
cheques and concealing cash and supporting one of the best labels
around before you've even realised it.

Will Be Heard
One the best independent UK labels
in existence, In At The Deep End Records (IATDE) demonstrate how
to get off your arse and do something with such an incredible
hardworking ethic it makes the industrial revolution look like
a Friday afternoon shift. On this free sampler, they showcase
16 bands with a surprisingly wide range of sounds and styles:
Send
More Paramedics 'Zombified' Old skool thrash/speed metal Slayer
style with gore-tastic lyrics and a sprinkling of hardcore attitude.
Steel Rules Die 'Still Waiting For The End' Blend of punk-lite
and melodic hardcore with this song that sounds scarily like Green
Day with Joe Strummer on vocals. Beecher 'Megadrive Vs Snes' a
song that sprints into a melee of disorder, with vocals that are
deranged beyond redress and with a morsel of midsection jamming
that throws a lifeline to the moshers. Highly recommended screamo
metalcore. The Killerest Expression 'Sid's Song' this is melodic
yet powerful pop punk with snarling vocals in a Bad Religion kind
of way. The Osterman Weekend 'Milestone' A gently crafted song
bulging with melody and character, emotionally charged and full
of jangly guitars. High quality stuff. And None Of Them Knew They
Were Robots 'Pinned Down And Under Fire' A scorching piece of
screaming metal hardcore, short and to the point. HiTechJet 'Check
Each Side' Catchy, melodic, hardcore punk with twin vocalists
who complement individual styles of light and shade. The Devils
'Ewan's Song' Mad, demented and menacing noisecore executed with
some panache and style. Interchanging moments of crushing heaviness
with a twinkling of devilish groove. Buzzkill 'Mr Furious' Wild
old-fashioned rock 'n' roll in a 'Rocket From The Crypt' kind
of way, complete with a sound full of sax and trumpets. The Wireless
Stores 'The Speed Of Sound' Great melodic rock with character
and class written all over it - they must be one of the few bands
that can make mathematical formula sound moving. DanDare 'Apologies'
Old style street punk with songs written around hardcore ethics
from four blokes from Holland. Lovejunk 'Ethan & Emma' With
a sound that sits in today’s interpretation of punk, very
catchy and melodic and actually having very little to do with
punk at all. Army Of Flying Robots 'Clipped Wings, Bleeding Wrists'
Brooding, dark and chaotic noisecore. This is a maelstrom of intense
dementia packed into just one and a half minutes. Jailcell Recipes
'Arm Twister' Rough and basic old skool hardcore punk sounding
raw and uncouth. One for the dedicated fans only. The Guillaume
Seam 'Bakunin The Destroyer' First class pounding noisecore that
has a darkened off kilter approach and which is barbarically intense
and crushingly heavy with just a touch of experimentalism here
and there. Awesome. This compilation is a great way of finding
out about these bands before committing to purchasing anything,
but once you have sampled this quality catalogue, it’s hard
to believe that you won’t be parting with some of the old
spondulicks.
